"What are you grateful for?"
Cafe Gratitude is one of my favorite restaurants in the Bay Area. There is one here in the East Bay in Berkeley. And there are several others, one being in the Mission in San Francisco. My best friend/roommate Shal and I went to the city for the day, it was a gorgeously beautiful sunny California afternoon. We had to take full advantage of it, so we took the bart to Powell Street, where we window shopped and people watched, then we headed to the Mission for lunch, at Cafe Gratitude. Here is how they describe themselves (they do a much better job than I could!)
So after an amazingly delicious meal, Shal and I had been inspired on many levels. Here is some of my thoughts after a great inspiring day in the city...
A relationship is about being with another. A relationship is a mirror, a way we reveal the wounds and negative things we hold inside us which separate us. We see what judgements and criticisms we put upon ourselves. Relationships become about compromise, rather that unconditional love. When we provide unconditional love we are being our true pure selves. That is the vision of our spirit- to love unconditionally, to be grateful each and every moment, to share this gratitude with others, to lift ourselves up to our highest form. When we finally take ownership of "yourself" then the union of two can be seen and created. We have to release our regrets, our past pain, our negative thoughts. We must release the negative and embrace the positive. We are humans, we have weakness but having strength in a community keeps everyone strong. We need to support one another
always, despite wrong doing or judgment. We must release our judgments of ourselves and of others, we must release criticism. We must own ourselves, own your own thoughts. Make them positive and gracious thoughts. We must release resistance, we must embrace the ability to control our own experiences. We manifest our own destiny, we make our life whatever we want it to be. I want my life to be full of love, full of gratitude for everyone and everything, I want my life to be full of positive thoughts and constant support to those I love. I want my life to be free, free to become whatever I will it to. I want to see each day as an adventure. Nothing is mundane is you have the right thoughts and approach. Everything is my life. I am grateful for the abundance of life I receive every day. I am blessed, and I am thankful.
